Sanding Belt Failure
By Dick Leis

A little off subject of instruments, but recently I have had repeated
failures of the glued splice of 1" and 3" wide sanding belts. Some
of the belts are brand new. In contacting the manufacturers of belts,
I am given no information about reattaching failed belts -- only told
to buy their "better" belts.

A brief search of the Internet turned up the use of the old familiar
hide pot glue, but I have not had a batch in use lately to try it.
Instant glue will hold for while, but ultimately fails. Has anyone
else found a quick and easy fix for what is becoming a continuing
problem for me and perhaps many others?
