Organ Rally in Museums of Pasadena, Calif.
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, On May 16, 2004, Frank and Shirley Nix arranged for
organs to be present at three sites for "Museums of the Arroyo Day".
Frank and Shirley had their Limonaire with lighted front and their
bubble machine, very popular with children. They were located at
The Gamble House, a beautiful example of a Greene and Greene designed
American Arts and Crafts period design.

At the Pasadena Museum of History were to be found Jerry and Darren Pell
with their recently acquired Gebr. Bruder organ with 271 pipes. Also
around the courtyard were Ervin and Betty Canada with their Deleika
organ and Lloyd and Brooke Osmundson with their Hofbauer Harmonipan
organ and Bartunek barrel organ from Czechoslovakia.

The third site was the Heritage Square Museum, a collection of homes
and buildings restored and under restoration and dating from 1850 to
1950. Set up at this site were Ken Hodge with his Verbeeck 36-key
organ and Daniel Wright with his self-built John Smith busker organ.
In costume and making balloon flowers was Guido the clown, a.k.a.
Guy Tutoro, and his Castlewood self-built organ representing 300 hours
of construction time.

Again, if you are near an organ rally, go! They are a great deal
of fun.
