Use Mouse and "Scroll Lock" for Tempo Control
By Spencer Chase

[ Ref. 040628 MMDigest, Seek Joystick for Cakewalk

Greetings, The currently available MIDI file player, which may be
downloaded from my web site, has a tempo slider control which is quite
fast acting. There are several ways you can make a "joystick" control
to vary the tempo.

Most mice sold today have advanced capabilities. One that is useful is
"scroll lock", which can be assigned to a spare button. If you click
on the tempo slider and then press scroll lock, the mouse movement will
control the tempo until you release scroll lock. If you have a wireless
optical mouse, you can position it just about anywhere and control the
tempo by moving it around.

Best regards,
