FS: Mason & Hamlin With Hickman Piano Action
By Thomas Ahearn

For sale: 1930 Mason & Hamlin A-9, 5' 8" grand with the unique Hickman
grand piano action. This piano is _not_ a player or reproducer, but
a fine old Mason which has the action designed by the co-inventor of
the Model B Ampico, Dr. Clarence N. Hickman. This is a major departure
from conventional action design (see
http://mmd.foxtail.com/Tech/HickmanAction/index.html)

The piano has seen a lot of use yet, worn out as it is, it is fully
playable -- a testament to the great design of the action. This is
a very vocal instrument with a gorgeous Mason tone. Mahogany case.
$6,500 f.o.b. Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Call Tom Ahearn (207) 725-1153 or (617) 620-2401

[ Tom says his biggest concern is that the Hickman action will be
[ preserved. Probably fewer than one dozen pianos were built with
[ this special piano action. At least one with an Ampico B player
[ system (a Knabe) survives today. -- Robbie
