I was given a collection of beer steins with mechanical music boxes
that play when lifted.  None of them work.

I am looking for a primer on the basics of cleaning and maintaining
simple mechanical music boxes.  I assume the gears and joints need
some cleaning and lubrication.  I need the basic do's and dont's before
I touch them.  Are there any on-line pointers or articles on this?
