Unknown Swiss "ST" Musical Box Plays 23.8 cm Disc
By Bill Wineburgh

Matthew, Robbie & Teddy: See page 123 of Bowers' Encyclopedia.
In the upper right hand corner are two photos of this musical box,
a 9-1/2" diameter Mira.

The ST within in a star is the trademark of Mermod Frères and was
used on both Stella and Mira branded discs.

Now, if only the mystery box still had its lid picture intact,
there would have been no mystery -- Mira is clearly printed on it.

Musically yours,

Bill Wineburgh

[ Thanks, Bill, you have sharp eyes! ;-) But Teddy Hargrove's
[ unknown instrument plays center-drive discs that say simply
[ "Swiss" -- they aren't marked "Mira" or "Stella" -- and so
[ I hesitate to assume his instrument originally bore the brand
[ name "Mira". Because the Jacot patent numbers are prominently
[ displayed, I think it could equally likely have been branded
[ "Jacot" or similar. -- Robbie
