Donating a Collection to a Museum
By Harold Draper

Private or Institutional Collections?

I'm sure there are valid reasons for both sides of this discussion,
and some very good ones have been shared recently, but with declining
interest over the years I don't see the point of further disinterest
by donating to institutions that will keep the majority of items in
a warehouse, out of use.

It's very simple: the more these instruments are kept inaccessible to
the public the more the decline. You can't take it with you, so put
it back into the public's hands where it will have a chance to grow.
After all, I believe that's where it started!
