Lightweight Piano Aboard the Hindenburg Airship
By Bill Kibby

Hi! I was intrigued to see Craig Smith's item about the aluminium
Bluthner on the Graf Zeppelin, because I have in front of me a
Bechstein catalogue of about 1936, which states quite clearly that
it was Bechstein who made the aluminium piano, and furthermore,
it was on the Hindenburg, not the Graf Zeppelin! It was the first
piano to be flown over the ocean.

I should add that the elusive aluminium Bluthner is mentioned on
various web sites, which all seem to be quoting each other!
