Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Erik York

I have noticed, as probably many of you have, that there is a player
piano in the movie "Sergeant York". It has some great tunes playing
on it, and I'm sure they are available on rolls still. Does anyone
know the numbers and titles to the tunes? Great sounding piano in
the movie, and you even get to see a close up of the controls.

I am the next generation, Domingo! ;) I am only 19 and have a Stroud
(Aeolian) player piano. Can't keep me away from this great music.
I am even fortunate to have a friend my age who also likes to hear
the same music!

Happy Holidays to all,
Erik York

[ He was "an excellent marksman who had no stomach for war." An
[ interesting account of Sgt. Alvin York, the person (not the movie
 [ portrayal), is at http://www.worldwar1.com/heritage/sgtayork.htm
