Stripped Screw Holes in Wood

Ordinary matchsticks are far too soft and you are wasting your time
in the long haul.  I would think the acid in leather would be as bad
at rusting as my steel wool method, although I've never had a problem
with it and this area is as humid as it gets in the summer.

I do like the idea of brass wool and think that would satisfy anybody
worrying about rust.  The wool itself will hold any screw from the
smallest to large leg screws on a grand.  Thanks, Moe, for the brass
idea.
