Pianodisc Question
By FredY2@aol.com

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I just got a Pianodisc delivered that was factory installed. The unit
was in storage for about ten years and is unused. I am having a
problem in that it does not seem to respond to the new-convention MIDI
"note off," with zero velocity being "note off."

The tech support guy seems to be worthless and keeps asking whether I am
using a PC or MIDI massager. His responses seem to assume that I am
trying to send MIDI out rather than have the piano receive it.

I wonder whether anyone might know anything with regard to firmware up-
grades of the control unit? Using an old legacy keyboard works correctly,
as it emits the dedicated "note off" command rather than the zero-velocity
convention.

I am an electrical engineer and manufacture a MIDI converter for older
Yamaha organs; so I am familiar with MIDI encoding.
