Combination Welte & Duo-Art Player Grand
By Tom Hutchinson

MMD, On the MMD of 7 Sept there is a notice of a nickelodeon build up
that will be available at an auction and there is an accompanying video
of this instrument. I don't know if anyone else clicked on the
additional YouTube videos listed at the bottom of the one concerning
the nickelodeon buildup but I strongly suggest you do.

There is a well produced video of what at first appears to be a regular
Duo-Art Steinway. However I at least was in for a big surprise because
this Steinway also contains a Welte Mignon system. This certainly looks
like an original factory job in that the control lever on the left side
of the spool box clearly is labeled for both Duo-Art and Welte Mignon
and the fall board clearly contains both names.

Does anyone know more about this instrument? Were there more of them
produced or is this one-of-a-kind that some very clever individual has
produced?
