Bovey Collection in Virginia & Nevada Cities, MT
By Sharon Marie

Sharon Marie wrote in the 080123 Digest, "Perhaps if AMICA or someone
else would be interested in uploading these sound samples to matching
photos of the machines, the public would get a better idea of how they
are supposed to sound."

John Page wrote in the 080124 Digest, "There are plenty of videos
already out there. Try searching YouTube for "great dorset steam fair
gavioli organs", and also transpose 'gavioli' to 'marenghi'."

Just to clarify: I am aware of many wonderful mechanical music videos
online, representing Gavioli, Marenghi and others. I was specifically
referring to the machines in the Bovey collection in Nevada City,
Montana. I think it's great that there are video clips out there of
fairground organs, etc. that are in tune and well cared for. In fact,
that's not a bad idea. Perhaps a link to similar instruments could
demonstrate the potential of the Bovey collection.
