Player Accordion Patent Awarded Louis Bacigalupi
By Robbie Rhodes

Inventors John Bacigalupi and Louis Bacigalupi, Sr., of Los Angeles,
California, were awarded U.S. Patent 2,122,905 which describes
a coin-operated player accordion, controlled by a perforated paper
music roll and powered by an electric motor which operates the music
roll drive and bellows for pressure and vacuum. Images of the patent,
which was filed in 1936, can be viewed at

Co-inventor Louis Bacigalupi, Sr., is almost certainly the proprietor of
West Coast Organ Company of El Monte, Calif. See Ed Gaida's article
at http://www.mmdigest.com/Archives/Digests/199803/1998.03.11.06.html

The co-inventor named John Bacigalupi in the patent is quite likely
Louis' eldest son, Giovanni (John) Bacigalupo III, born 1895 in Berlin,
who later was proprietor of "Bacigalupo Söhne" of Berlin.
