Lower Cover Board for Coin Piano
By Britt Abbott

I noticed that quite a few coin nickelodeon pianos that I've seen
come up for sale are missing the lower board that covers the player
mechanism. Were these boards originally made of plywood with veneer,
or were they separate planks covered by veneer? I assume there's
also a key/latch inset in the board for locking/latching it in place
at the top.

Is there anyone out there that makes an original style bottom board
along with an original type latch mechanism? Is it possible to find
an old junker upright piano or player piano and modify its bottom
board to fit?
