Pictures of Molinari Street Organ
By Bob Conant

In the 080710 MMD, Michael Lawrence asks about pictures of a Molinari
street organ. I have attached a picture of the organ formerly owned
by the late Harvey and Marion Roehl. While the case shown is a newly
constructed one, they owned the badly deteriorated original, and this
is as nearly an exact copy as is humanly possible.

The organ was rebuilt by the late Mike Kitner, the case was constructed
by George Melnyk of Endicott, N.Y., and the exquisite marquetry was
done by the late Jack Garside of Vestal, N.Y., who "wrote the book" on
the subject. I don't know that I have any pictures of the back side
but it was much plainer, while still retaining the same basic trim as
the front.

  [ Bob,
[ Robbie Rhodes is away for the day, leaving the MMD in less capable
[ hands than his. I am not able to handle picture attachments.
[ Would you please resend the picture to editor-0801@mmdigest.com?
[ Robbie will then post it in the MMD Gallery.
