The stack, pump, and expression mechanisms seem to be all there, though it is missing the spoolbox and electric motor. The system seems to be in solid, restorable condition. The piano itself is a Lipp & Sohn which is in rough shape, though restorable. I would like this to go to someone who will appreciate it and restore it. It has a oak case with original finish in good shape. A single square beveled glass in center of front. Instructions for lubrication and maintenance are posted on the inside of the case are still very clear. It is an electric machine. The only thing that has been altered is the start switch has been changed from the troublesome mercury type to a micro switch and relay. It has one roll in relatively fair shape and plays well. Unless it is the "teakettle all metal player action, in which case it would need to actually be functional. The case, keys, tuning, bridal tapes, etc. are assumed to be in need of replacing or refinishing. I do not have alot of money, but I do have a serious love of these particular instruments and desire one of my own which I can restore to it's original beauty and unequalled depth of tone. It still has the original Wicks combination action. The organ was built by the Wicks Organ Company, Highland, ILL. in 1964 and installed in an organ faculty office at Brigham Young University. It was sold to Richard D Johnson and installed at his home in Santa Clara, Utah in 1985. It was disassembled and brought to California with care and is in protected storage in excellent condition. I live in Denver, and the dry climate has affected the sound board. It needs to be lubricated or replaced in order for the piano to stay in tune. It is basically an electronic version of paper rolls. It has software that converts the MIDI files (single track) and sends them to an electronic circuit that turns the pallet valves on and off to the melody and timing of the music. Music can also be put in, one note at a time, from sheet music. This player system works through your computer and/or music can be loaded onto EPROMS and played as a stand-alone system. Restored in 2000 by a professional player piano restorer. The keys are all original white ivory with no discoloration or chips in the keys. The player belonged to an elderly deceased female and I am told by the family that sold it to me that she would let no one touch the piano except her. My restorer told me that the player has concert level sound. The cabinet has not been refinished as I love the old look but it is in excellent condition throughout. The piano is not exectrified or modified in any way. I need to sell due to needing additional office space for husbands business. I love this player and really hate to sell. It is a Stratford player, Mahogany case, made in 1924, serial number 87104. It was pneumatically restored and refinished by a player piano rebuilder in the mid 1980's and sold to the present owner in 1990. It still plays nicely with its original foot pedals and has not been electrified. It includes a bench and 75 assorted old rolls. The owner paid well over $3000 for this piano and will sell it now for $2000, far less than today's cost to restore the player. I want no fees or markup in this sale; I am selling this to help out the owner who is now in North Carolina. For anyone wanting a player piano that is ready to go, this is a great value! This restored Baltimore Player Piano is a 'stencil' piano marked for the Peabody Music Company, in Baltimore. See photos and pictures. It uses a player mechanism by Standard. Restored over about 15 months time, restoration included replacement tuning pins, newly fabricated and covered pneumatics and valves, replacement hoses, along with many small parts. The refinished exterior has slight antique crazing that complements the brilliant mahogany veneer. The piano has been maintained tuned and kept in a temp/humidity controlled environment.
